Bike Check: Remedy 9.9 from Bike Force Fremantle

We recently featured a Bike Check of a Team RadioShack Madone from Bike Force Clarkson, and now we have a Remedy 9.9 from Mark Williamson at Bike Force Fremantle.

Last year Mark had a Trek Remedy 8, and used it for all sorts of riding including a local 4 Hour Enduro!

Mark loved the versatility of the Remedy, and has decided to up the ante this year and gone for a Remedy 9.9!

He says that he is impressed with the improvements over the 2009 model "and I thought that bike was a fantastic ride. DRCV rear shock is bottomless. ... The carbon main frame is so much lighter and stiffer to ride, this bike climbs like it should be a XC machine."

With a few component changes, he has got the weight down to just 12.2kgs! (It is a 19.5")

RadioShack Madone at Bike Force Clarkson

Justin at Bike Force Clarkson recently took delivery of a new Madone 6 Series.

Ordered through Trek's Project One program, Justin has specced his new dream bike with a team RadioShack paintjob, including team edition Bontrager Aeolus 5.0 carbon wheels.

Like some of the team riders, Justin also went with an alloy Bontrager RXL stem and carbon RXL Blade handlebar but specced it up with an electronic Shimano Di2 groupset, and rare Bontrager Speed Limit XXX brake calipers.

Very nice new ride Justin! As you said, no excuses now! Check this bike out in the Bike Force Clarkson store.

Session 88 at Venture Cycles

Jeremy from Venture Cycles on Queensland's Sunshine Coast has just finished building up a Session 88 and proudly sent through some photos for us to see.

From where I'm sitting, that looks like a great quality build! Check it out in the shop, or if you're fast enough to catch Jeremy on the trail!

Trek at the Dirt Jumps

For a long time Trek has been sponsoring dirt jumper and slope style rider Cam McCaul. He is one of the worlds leading riders in these disciplines and has won many competitions and starred in almost every one of the big films of the freeride scene.

Recently he gave quite an in depth interview for PinkBike.com, composed of questions posted to him by the sites forum users. Check it out here.

Of course Trek makes sure that Cam is riding the best equipment for his style of riding and he has been involved in the development of the new Ticket dirt jump frame, and his own bike was recently featured in a Bike Check, also on PinkBike.com.

Not to be out-done in the dirt jumping stakes, Trek World Racing rider Andrew Neethling is no slouch either.

Real Life Treks

The new Trek's look great. Great colours, great spec, and you know they work amazingly as well.

But here are a couple of older bikes from some Trek dealers around the country.

First up we have Doug from Gran Prix with his Trek Y22.

A very nice example of the old turned new again, with new forks and a single speed conversion. Apparently Gran Prix are turning 'Y-Bike Crazy' so get down there to check out a few more of them, and let them know if you want to unload your old Y-bike frame.

Next up we have John, the head mechanic at Hendry's Cycles and his Elite 9.9 SSL.

A very sweet looking ride and apparently weighing in at 8.56kgs! I'm not sure if that is with or without the MRP chainguide he fitted later. It does seem that more and more people are simplifying their XC bikes and going to a single chain ring, and the chain guide adds some extra security.
